my dad has a 2000 rancher 350 that sat for over a year. Went through it and got it running and it doeant run right. I know the float bowl gasket is leaking and i have that on order, and found a crack in one of the small hoses going to the carb so i replaced that also. I went through and cleaned the carb. It runs and idles but sometimes on decelleration it kinda backfires occasionally and has a small intermittent miss at idle. Also kind of annoying is that the throttle is really slow to rev back down. you let off the gas and it seems like forever for the rpms to drop back to idle...compared to his identical rancher, this one irevs different. I thought maybe the idle was set too high but that doesnt seem to help, with the down rev back to normal, the atv wont idle. please help!!!!!!! i believe this atv has 1000 hours on it.

 

When you cleaned the carb, did you make sure the slow (pilot/idle) jet was absolutely clean???
