Default Shift angle sensor location on an '04 recon ?

Where is this sensor located on the '04 Recon ? The bike won't shift so my dealer gave me one (for the recall) and I forgot to look-up where it's located ... I hope this sensor works...

Thank's in advance !

The angle sensor is at the front of the engine beside the shift control motor .. It is under a small metal guard ..
Here is a picture of it .

Thank you HM !!

I have the angle sensor, a tube of dielectric grease and a can of contact cleaner.

I have my fingers crossed that the dern thing shifts when I'm done. If not I'll count the flashes this time..

Have a great week, I'll report back this Sunday.

Smile Shift angle sensor 04 recon

I just replace my angle sensor on my recon and it solved my shifting problem. The picture online was very helpful for me to find it. I took off the right front side plastic cover with 3 bolts and a plastic screw, holding it, to gain access. The metal plate covering the sensor had 2 bolts(10mm) and then the two bolts on the sensor itself came off with a allen wrench. Unplug the sensor, replace and you're back on the trails.
