popping in the rear end of my 2002 honda foreman 450 4x4
#1
i was on the way back from riding and the rear end started popping, and sliping. can somebody tell me what it is and how to fix it. it sounds like it is coming from the axle, drive shaft or the gears on the axle

i have a 250 es 3 wheeler that was doing the same thing when i got it dissassembled the pinion bearings were gone and the needle bearings at the end of the pinion shaft were also gone. the pinion was not staying in place and was poppoing out of position on the ring gear. Its pretty expensive to rebuild them and to do it yourself does require some special tools on mine .

Most likely lack of service to the rear diffy ?
Lot of times the left outer wheel bearing will go, until the slipping part you mentioned. Most likely the pinion bearing took a growler

i got a manual from clymer and its a ggod thing to have anyway but without the tools to take out the pinion shaft i dont see how you can get it out,
