Default Performance Exhaust System for 05/06 TRX300 EX

I want to give my daughter's bike a boost for her birthday. She rides and 05 TRX300EX. I dont want to make it noisy for the sake of noise so need a recommendation for a well made full exhaust kit for her bike. Any suggestions?

First off, the header on this engine is pathetic! You need a full system, not just a slip-on. I like FMF.....maybe a HiFlow Header and a Q Muffler???

Also, take the airbox lid off, or better yet get an EHS Racing lid with Outerwears (unless you ride in the wet a lot).

go to youtube and search 300ex cobra

mine are the first 2 or 3 that come up..

My friend on the other 300ex in the video has a white bros E series with the spark arrester removed and stock head pipe,

I have cobra jet full exhaust (header/pipe/muffler)

It hauls *** and its LOUD, but a bad *** loud..

its not too loud if you go easy on the throttle, so you can sneak past houses and what not, but once you get on it at all it sounds like a bad *** harley.

Thanks to all for your input. Have any of you heard of or been to Curtis Sparks Racing? He wins alot of desert and track events and has some pretty strong claims of actual HP and torgue gains with his system(s) for 4 strokes. Link is:

http://www.sparksracing.com/

Parts guys said with the K&N / Outerwear I have, take the lid off, put on their pipe for up to 330 CC's (they offer several 300EX systems, and this pipes are all built by them on site and are 1 pc, add in the jet for sea level (we ride the dunes at Glamis) and she;ll have the baddest 300EX around...Price it hefty, but is sounds like these guys have put the time and effort into actual dyno testing.

The actual pipe add is below...what do you think?

Full X-4 Exhaust system Honda TRX 300EX
$399.95 Per Item

The 300EX and its predecessor the 250X have gotten a great deal of attention from Curtis over the years and that has allowed us to offer you an awesome exhaust system for your quad. The X-4 is designed for motors under 330cc.

q Features

o Oversized stepped header

o Reverse megaphone for huge power gains

o Lightweight aluminum silencer

o Huge power and torque increase over stock

o Utilizes new Sparks Modular end cap design

o Modular end cap allows for easy installation of optional SA screens and/or quiet inserts

o Muffler is completely rebuildable and is now super easy to do.

o Weighs under 7 lbs

o Awesome four-stroke performance sound

o Ceramic coating is added to this system to enhance the looks of the system. It looks like polished aluminum.

o The ceramic coating adds a small amount of additional heat retention.

o Quick and easy to install

o To guarantee the highest quality exhaust, each one is built right here at Sparks Racing

o Utilizes stock mounts and hardware

o Chrome mounting flange

Think twice about the K&N! I have had bad experiences with them. Had them on everything for a sort while, but every time I would change them, I would wipe out the boot (intake behind the filter) and there would be a film of very fine dust in it.

Hold a K&N up to the light....you can see right through it. It's only a little piece of gause....ridiculous!

Don't fool yourself that an Outerwears will save you either. All it does is catch the big stuff, and leave the little stuff to go right through that wimpy little K&N.

Some folks advocate K&N's because with an Outerwears it is dry, and sand won't cling to it. But, you will still pass the really fine stuff, and that stuff is really abrasive. Sorry, I don't need sandpaper in my combustion chamber.

Get a UNI, and an EHS Racing lid!
