Default 08 Rancher rear shock

Hey all. I've got a 08 Rancher 420 ES 4wd and quite honestly, I'm disappointed in the rear shock. The shock isn't adjustable and has no pre-load settings, and unfortunately, I'd like the rear end more stiff. Do I need to swap out the shock for a clicker? Is this recommended? Other than length, what other considerations do I need to be aware of? THANK YOU for your thoughts.

Wow, you are probably the only person on earth that thinks the Rancher shock is to soft! Try WorksPerformance.....

I tried using a rubber wedge in the rear monoshock spring on my 07 Rancher but what I'd really like to do is soften up the front shocks and leave the rear alone.

Hi-Lifter carry's an overload spring for the 420. They will raise it up about an inch. I put them on the front and rear. They increase the load capacity buy a 100lbs. I put them on the front cause my snowplow was sagging the front so bad and on the back cause I was carrying a passenager alot. However after I got my wife her own 420, I put the stock spring back on the rear cause of the hard ride, still have them on the front however. Check Hi-Lifter, they carry the complete set plus the spring tool as a set, or you can buy only the front or rear. However you will need the tool to change them.
