biggest tires on a rancher 420
#1
i was looking to get a set of 25" tall tires for my rancher 420, i was wondering if anyone has had any bigger tires on and what the performance differnce was over the stock tires, like how much low end power do you loose.

i put a set of 25 radial duro powergrip tires on my 420 i lost a little low end power, nothing to realy notice, i will say these radial tires, are performing great, i dont get as much bump in the steer , hitting deep ruts, they glide over logs, i get alot better ride at higher speeds, id take a radial tire anyday over a bias tire.

I have had both 25 and 26" on my Ranchers, and all they do is ruin the quads sweet handling characteristics. If someone wants or needs huge tires, get a bigger machine to start with.....

I dont really want the bigger tires because i know that it will effect the low end power, but if you have 25" tires you get a better selction to choose from than if you keep the stock 24". Also why cant honda just use the same fims sice for the front and the rear?

i dont think youll notice a big loss in power with 25 inch tires on the 420, i wouldnt put anything bigger then 25 inch. i havent noticed any handling loss with 25,s ive noticed alot better handling with a radial tire.

My recently installed 25 inch ITP TerraCross radials, no noticeable loss in power, greatly improved handling and ride. Even my cat likes them!

sac7000 your wheeler looks really good with those tires, how do they perform, in different terrains</end quote></div>
I've yet to test them in deep mud or snow and since my 420 is 2WD only I tend to stay on the hard trails and forest service roads. The difference in handling and rider confidence is where they really shine.
I noticed the other day when I was visiting the local Yamaha dealer (I needed a mirror) numerous quads and ATV's were sitting on ITP TerraCross radial tires.
