No, I'm from Texas. I looked at a wiring diagram that HondaMechanic has on here. I think it is the reverse shift switch that grounds to the ECU when the reverse cable is pulled. I'm guessing it completes the circuit to allow the electric shift go into reverse. Thanks for the help and all the replies. Have a nice day.
The reason for all the questions was my neighbor was replacing the bracket on the left brake lever. He mistakenly ask for the part for a 2001 and his is a 2000 model. The new bracket has no mounting holes for the switch and we thought it might be a brake light switch that we could leave off. Thanks again.
