my quad idles fine and runs fine except for one thing.... when i run 1/2 to full throttle for at least 10 min and come to a stop and put it in neutral, ill give it some throttle and it hesitates if i cut it off and leave it off for about 5 min and come back out and crank it up it wont hesitate at all.... it also blows out a lil puff of black smoke when it coughs.... any suggestions or anythinga at all will be appreciated thanx

 

i hear it may be because of rich jetting.... well if so what do i need to do.... but what i dont understand that if it is rich y wont it hesitate if ive just been riding casually and not heavy on the throttle? thanx

 

Yeah it is most likely the jetting.
The same thing happened to me 300ex after i got my white brothers on it had a hesitation so i jeted it , yesterday it was runnin rich cause of the weather change so today i took all my plastic off and my gas tank off because i had to adjust my valves then when i was done that i rejeted it to a 128 then it ran fine.

 

what exactly do i need to adjust to cure this problem.... it cant be the main jet because it runs fine 3/4 to full throttle but what about the needle, pilot or anything like that.... someone said that i needed to lean the pilot jet but i dont think thats it but im not sure could the needle be in the wrong position/clip

 

what setting is the clip on the needle now? What mods if any are you running?

Sounds like you may be a bit rich in the midrange, that would be the needle setting..

i dunno exactly what clip position its suppose to be on everyone has told me it should be on 3 so im hoping its not on 3 so that way i know what the problem is coming from im getting it serviced this saturday so ill tell them to check that out
