Nah, the paint won't harm anything. The lean-edness would.

 

The paint won't hurt it. They sell insulating tape for exhaust pipe headers.

so you guys are just saying wrap the headers with that insulating tape and paint over it with High temp paint and il be good to go?

 

One or the other. The tape doesn't look all that good, The paint will look a lot better. I would just try to paint the header and see if that's what you were looking for.
