Ive been offered a honda fourtrax 300 for my atc 110, the kick starter is stripped, but the electric start work, and the plastics are bad, he's goign to send me soem pictures, he says its an 85, but i cant find anything about an 85 four trax, its a 300 utility, 2x4. Just wondering what people can tell me about them

 

the old trx 300's where awsome! should be a good solid mechine even after heavy use. good power. i would get the kick start fixed. im not sure what years they where produced. but like buying anything, make sure its not been beaten and is junk. make sure it starts/runs well, dose not leak anything, everything works, and even jack it up and check bearings!

on a mechine that old check the bearings! wiggle the wheels sids to side checking for slop.

im looking to buy an older 300 myself. those where top of the line mechines back in the day.

like cherokee99 said check the bearings really well im not shure about that modle but on most old bikes the gbearings are a pain in the a## to change so just but the quad up on a bucket and wiggle the real axel

 

What year did they start making them?

 

i think 88? thats all the further the trx300 manual i have goes back. he could have gotten the year wrong. if in doubt look for the vin tag on the frame, usually on the front part of the frame
