To bypass the neutral you have to ground it , but the neutral light will stay on all the time .. What is wrong with the neutral switch ..?.. If it is bad just swap it for the reverse switch ..

i have an 01 rancher that the same thing went wrong on. it seems that it is a common problem. my quick fix: i looked at the wiring diagram and traced the wire. i put a safty pin through the wire, attached another wire from that to a toggle switch, and from there to the frame. now when i want to start my bike i close the switch the neutral light comes on, i start the bike then flip the switch and ride on
