A good oil read! http://www.thumperfaq.com/oil.htm
Any motorcycle specific oil that is API SG/JASO MA. The SG insures that it has a robust anti-wear/high-pressure additive package (to protect your transmission gears and cam), and the MA insures that it does not contain anything that will make your wet clutch slip.
Beyond that, the synthetics have huge advantages over plain old petroleum oil, and the ester synthetics have advantages over the other two types of synthetics (PAO and Group III).
10W40 in summer, 10W30 in cooler weather, and 5W30 in the very cold.
I like Maxima's oils, because they have a monster additive package, and some very high tech ester synthetics. http://www.maximausa.com/
If you can't find anything else, Honda GN4 or HP4 should be readily available from a dealer.
