The grab bar on my 400ex has broken off about 2 inches in and I'm considering welding it back on but I'd rather get aftermarket grab bar. Will I need to weld the stock grabbar to mount the aftermarket?

 

No what you should do is get a grab bar that you want. Then hold it up to the frame so you can mark the hole location weld some nuts on the frame so your new grab bar will be replaceable. make sure the new grab bar is not going to be to narrow for your frame.
