426 COMPLETED !!!

hey fellas.
SHES DONE !! yall helped me a couple of times with my 400EX i jus rebuild so i figured id update. i just finished it lastnight and rode for about 3 hours today and well.... COMPLETELY satisfied is all i can say. the torque on this thing is outragous, and the sound from the HMF sport series is awesome. Im runnin a 165 main, and 45 pilot with stock needle setting and about 1.5 turns out on the air screw. ( i live pretty much at sea level. about 30 miles from the gulf in south west La.). The only thing i regret is that i changed the clutch plates and not the springs... and the springs were what was bad aparantly, so its kinda hard to completely unleash it... but its there now, so i can imagine when i get it fixed. but jus a run down on it...426 wiseco 11:1 piston. hotcams stage 2 cam, mild port, highly polished, relapped the valves, stock headers, stock valves, HMF sport series silencer, and all that on stock gearing. But i hope this might help out anyone wanting to do this build on here, and thanks all yall for the help !! any more ideas??? let em rip!!

You surely have an aftermarket brain box, don't you? If you don't, its a must have, esp for the money (100-125 bucks). Take advantage of that stage 2 hotcam. Mine wouldn't start in cold weather with the aftermarket cdi and had to put the stock one back in. If you really need the power, just warm it up and change it back.

entire electrical is completely stock... i heard some bad stories about puttin aftermarket cdi's and things like that with 11:1 and stage 2 cam. something about it changing the timing and it might be to advanced for this motor. I build car motors also. so i know all about timing.... with a distributor.... kinda blank on the whole 4 wheeler timing and such. I would like to upgrade my elec. but dont know what to buy since iv been hearing things about the timing and detonation and all that. and i DONT want that goin on ... lol but if yall have some info on all the cdi's and stuff.. let it fly this way. i would like to learn about this to know if i can upgrade or not.
