i have a 1988 trx350d and my fuel pump went out on mine juat a couple of weeks ago, to my knowledge the pump has to be pumping the entire time that the machine is running in order for the engine to get fuel

Do yourself a favor. Discard the electric fuel completely, install a Mikuni vacumn fuel pump that you find on an old single carb snowmobile. I've done this and had absolutely no problem whats so ever. If you want more info just let me know.
