What do you mean by a lot lower. If your bike keeps back firing you may have a broken reed.

DID YOU CLEAN ALL THE OLD GASKETS OFF AND AND USE NEW ONES? IF YOUR COMPRESSION IS LOW, YOU HAVE A LEAK SOME PLACE.

I would ensure that your ring gap is correct first. Even if the piston and rings are new, you may have bored over too much (did you bore it out??). Next make sure to use all new gaskets, and definately check your reeds to ensure they are closing and/or not broken. your electrical system sounds like it is operating properly, but I have seen CDI's drive me crazy at times also. The way you explained about lack of proper compression sounds more like reeds or improper ring/piston size. Hope this helps out!

whats the stock compression supposed to be? 180 right. would to low of compression make it not start. i think its my head gasket maybe to. i will change it. but i think it won't start becuase of the compression(airleak at head or base gasket i think). do you guy and girls think it could be that. all my friends, people from work and my neighbor all came up with that the compression it low.i triend a different electircal system and still wouldn't start. so i have no idea. all help is appriecated
