Default rincon not changing gears

Does anyone know why my Honda Rincon 650 wouldn't be changing gears in automatic? Seems like it does ok in esp but I am gonna double check that.

Could be a number of things. Throttle position sensor or maybe vehicle speed sensor. Does the dash show the normal D, or blinking --?

What exactly does it do when it doesn't shift? Does it just rev out in 1st? What year machine, and are there any error codes?

In cold weather the oil needs to be warmed up a bit, especially the 650.

Oil level can also cause shifting problems. Be sure to let it idle like 5 minutes, and sit for 2 to get an accurate reading.

What year? 03's were known to have an o ring fail on the main passage from the pump. Result would be insufficient oil pressure to operate the transmission.

There are 3 ports to measure pressure on the transmission. The ports are a funky metric thread that's difficult to find, so it might be worth letting a dealer test it.
