my friend has a 2004 foreman 400 4x4 and he cant get it to start. He bought it about 3 weeks ago and it was smoking REAL BAD, but he bought it and rode it any way, because he was told the engine was just rebuilt and the rings haven't had time to set in yet. well we were riding one day and it died and now it wont start. he has replaced the spark plug to no avail. He is trying to get me to rebuild his carburetor, but before i start to tare in to it i wanted to get some advice first.

any ideas as to why it will not start?

i would check the compression first just to see what it was, also maybe rings were not installed properly or never touched at all.
