Buying a 87 250x, what should i look for.

250x not a 2 stroke 4 stroke. i have an 87 250x and has taken a beating over 21 years , never been apart except for common wear problems tires, brakes, chains, sprokets, axle bearings. good luck!

yep but i know that 250 4 stroke is good also!! my buddy has a 86 honda big red with the same engine except slower obviously lol!
That even better of a deal for 500 bucks!!! less trouble!! but still less power

Well i went and picked it up today, and i'm quite happy. Runs strong, sounds sweet, and overall is in good shape for the age. The plastic is kinda beat up, but WTH...
Also, someone took the headlight off, i have it too, but i'll have to figure out how to rig it up to work again.
Only major thing is, the air filter is under the seat, but there is no box or anything around it, so if i hit a big puddle it could get wet... Ill snap a photo tomorrow. Hopefully i can get that cleared up asap.

Did a bunch of hard riding today, and i've a few questions. First, i really need a skid plate for the back swingarm, i hit a rock and popped the chain once, lucky got it back on... (how to i tighten it?) 2nd, i rolled it once, and the plastics are really in bad shape, any tips on putting them back together, or an idea where to get replacements.
Also, i need an Air box of some kind...
It sounds real nice, despite the weird exhaust, and its super easy to pop wheelies on! Alot of fun! I do need to replace this back axle soon though...
