first thing i would do is buy a repair manual. plastics you can get anywhere really. the 300ex's up till 07 i think are the same. chain adj is easy. loosen the two pinch bolts on the rear swingarm and rotate the carrier with a steel rod. you'll see the adj notches/holes in the carrier.

go on ebay to find parts. all the chassis parts like the air box, axle, bearings.etc are the same as the 300ex.

Get one of these durablue skids for the rear. I put one on my 250X and it is awesome. And they are on scratch & dent sale at Rocky Mtn. ATV for $50

$500 for that bike is a great deal man, don't be having an second thoughts. Just that fact that you can use 250X and 300EX parts makes it worth buying since parts will be so east to come by. eBay is where I've had most of my luck for parts. Just try different searches, "Honda 250", "Honda 250X", Honda 250 X". I know on my Suzuki Quadsport LT230S, there's about ten different searches I can do and they all have different parts!

Yea i've quite happy. I ran it hard yesterday and it did quite well, and kept up with my buddies banshee on all but the longest stretches of trail. And i'm loving the reverse!!
I Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word er rigged up the plastics, so hopefully that holds for now, i dont have $50 for a replacement set off ebay.
Only other thing i need now is a skid plate. Seen some cheap ones on ebay. Oh and that Air box issue. Maybe i'll just make something to shield the water from it...

Here are a few quick photo's. I hooked up a piece of copper sheeting under the air filter, so unless i go into a huge puddle, it should stay dry. I'm going to be buying a used rear skid off ebay, and that about covers it!
