Well this will be my first quad buy. I've ridden many, but never owned one.
Its an 87 250x, guy wants $550 for it, i talked him down to $450. He said the back axle and swingarm could use replacing some time soon, but are good for now, and he said it comes with the new axle... Has a slow oil leak from the stator cover, probably a gasket...
Anything i should look for? Is that a decent deal? Anything else i should know?
Thanks!

Here are the only two i got.
I replaced the motor in my dakota this spring, so i am not too worried about the axle swap, just wanted to make sure there are no super sticky places.
I've been looking around for an older cheap quad for a while, and this is the best deal i've found...

I understand it may be advisable to stay away from 2 strokes as your first machine, but blasters are a very nice machine, reliable until modded a lot, and have some oomph for a first quad. You can find them for very cheap on ebay all the time. Hope this helps you out.
