fair price on older 300ex's
im just wondering what is a fair price on an older good condition 300ex would be? local listings have been running for around $1800, but some are 10-15 year old models. im thinking thats a bit high since i could spend $700 more and buy a 5 year old 400.. your thoughts?

Totally depends on your needs for a quad. If you just want a great trail quad, and top speed and raw power are not a concern, the 300ex is great, in good condition,I'm afraid you won't find them much cheaper than 1500-1800, and trust me, you don't want a "bargain price" one, it will be beat to death, and require a lot to make a good quad out of. Honda, whether a quad or car, seems to hold a lot of value on the market, I have seen 95 Honda Civics still going for 4000, so the quads will probably stay higher as well. To sum it up, if you plan on keeping the 300 for a while, you won't be sorry, but if you are looking for a trail racer, and all your buddies run bigger quads, you may find yourself wanting more power and would be better off spending more on the 400 to begin with.
But.... if your heart is set on a 300ex, I have a nice one for sale !!!!!
