why all the trash talk on the rincon tranny

In my opinion the Rincon's transmission isn't too complicated. It's a basic 3 speed. The dual clutch on the Rancher AT will be way more complicated, but could also be the best transmission ever put in an ATV.
Anyhow, to me the Rincon has excellent ride and handling, and the transmission has proven to be pretty bullet proof. It excells at fast trail riding over rough terrain, and at racking up tens of thousands of miles with only basic service.
I do wish it had a low range, though. It will go down steep trails fine, but you do have to use the brakes. Engine braking starts at about 6 mph, and a steep hill would have you doing 12 mph w/o using the brakes. A Foreman or Rubicon would be doing 2-3 mph in that situation.
Anyway, I think it's a nice machine and worth having, but if they would have put a low range on it, the machine would be better suited for a wider variety of uses, and a wider variety of rider's personal preference.
Some people absolutely love it the way it is and see no need for a low range, others absolutely hate it. I'm somewhere in the middle...
