I have a 400ex that i bought last week or so and ive been hearing this ticking noise and ive heard it might be the valves that need to be ajusted but i had it in my garge and was reving it and neutral and i put my hand behind my dg exhaust and when i pulled my hand back there was like oil or some shyt on my hand so idk whats going on please help

how much does it cost to adjust valves??

 

the oil part is no big deal, unless it's shooten out a lot, i wouldn't worry bout it, you can adjust the valves yourself if you have some feeler gauges, .004 intake .005 exhaust if it has stock cam in it, on top of the cylinder there's 4 big bolt looken things to take off and in there is where you do it

 

whats your plug look like . black.its probbaly runnin too rich shooting un burnt fuel out.
