The 400EX was introduced some 10 years ago now! My EX is an 00, but I bought it in late 99....so it is going on 10 years I have had it! All I have ever done to it is new rear axle bearings, and that was mostly my own fault for riding in a desert flash flood.

My Rancher 350 is an 00, and it's going on 10 years I have had it as well.

It's not a 400EX or even a quad but as a statement to Honda reliability I have a 99 CR500 that has about 4 years of racing the Whiplash Series in Az, 2 rides on the Baja 1000 course, and god knows how many miles of trail riding. Original owner, been rebuilt 4 times. Once after every racing season.

 

My buddy has a 500, and he says he never wears out a front tire, because it is never on the ground!

 

That is true. I go through almost 3 rears before I need a new front!

Maybe even more, I really don't ride it too much b/c I live in Colorado and the 500 2 stroke is not meant for tight trails.
