I'm looking at 2 foreman 500s and trying to decide on which. They both have similar miles (350 & 470), both have winches, both have stock tires, both foot shift, both appear to be in great shape (the 08 obviously a little better) except for the 06 is red and the 08 is the camo package. Well I don't care about color really so that's not a deciding factor but the 06 I can get for $4500 and the 08 for $5200. So my question is: Is there any difference between the 2? Was there any changes? I'm leaning towards the 06 mainly for the $700 dif, but I wanted to get y'alls opinion first. Thanks for the help

 

I don't think there were really any significant changes.

If color doesn't matter, I'd avoid the camo. There have been threads about it peeling, and a chemical compound that is in a lot of cleaning products apparently attacks the camo's clear coat.

I'd also wonder which winch each has. If one has the Warn XT30 (wireless remote synthetic cable model) and the other has an el-cheap-o, that would be a significant factor for me.

I also think you could probably negotiate a bit better price, on either of them.

I agree on avoiding the Camo, it has a tendancy to turn purple. You can buy a brand new carry over Rubicon with rt30 warn winch and a moose 50" plow for 5999, so I'd offer 4000 and 4750 respectively.

 

Well I don't really need a plow but that does sound like a really good deal. I wanna stick with a manual shift though so I'm out on a Rubicon or a Foreman ES. My local dealer can get me an 08 Rancher manual for $4800 but I want a Foreman 500 now

 

The 500 Foreman from 05-09 are clones. They added power streering and thats it, on some in 07 I think.

well I just found the one I'm gonna buy. A black 07 Foreman 500 manual shift 4x4 with only 130mi and 40hrs for $4000. This thing is mint and looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Can't believe it. Gonna check it out tomorrow and if it's nearly as good as it appears I'm gonna buy it. Thanks for the info
