Default off topic but NEED HELP!

i have a 1981 honda xr 80 and i just pushed it for 2 miles. we think the needle inside the carb is sticking cause every once and awhile it boggs out and dies in like 5 seconds whenever it wants. but i usually starts right back up but this time it wouldn't start at all until i got it back in our shop and then it started right back and i was ****ed

A rising slide should yank out a stuck needle in the lowered position, so I can't imagine that situation. So I assume you thinking that the needle is stuck in a raised position??? Does this needle float, or is there something that holds it to the slide.

Another possibility is that the float is getting stuck occasionally (either open or closed), and flooding you out or starving you for fuel.

I kind of assumed he meant the float valve.

In my experience, just pulling the carb off to take it apart and clean it thoroughly would be the best way to deal with it.
