250ex piston replacement...

Default 250ex piston replacement...

I have a 2002 honda 250ex that needs a new piston and the cylinder bored out. Does it really matter what brand of piston i get? i hear wiesco is the best but i dont have very much money..would it be ok if i just got a diifernt brand? and where would i find a good deal on them...thanks

I believe Honda offers a variety of oversizes... I would imagine it would be cheaper than Wiesco, but would be a high quality part that would last.

well i was acually thinking about that today so i called the honda dealer and they said they couldnt find anything but the stock piston....very odd

On bike bandit it looks like Honda makes .25, .50, .75 and 1.0 oversize pistons, and rings...

Try another dealer.

Is the cylinder torn up? If not, you might have it measured with a micrometer. It might not need bored, or if it does you would know which size piston it is going to need.
