I have a 420 Rancher Electric Shift that is not shifting into reverse. It seems to do fine with the other gears but it won't go to R. When I am running through the gears, I can hear the shift motor working. When I engage the reverse control lever, (the little button deal attached to the left brake lever), the motor does not kick in.

I can shift it into reverse by using the manual shift tool but not when trying to use the electric switch. Sounds like the angle sensor is pretty problematic on these models. What does this control? Any ideas?

 

I checked the code. I had 4 slow flashes and 2 fast ones.

 

Code #42 is the shift button up/down code ..

 

So the problem is the shift selector button?
