done usual things rebuild card check valves idles fine back fires alittle through carb and tail pipe

 

What kind of quad?

Did it do this suddenly, or was it after long storage or some kind of work?

honda 250 ex on trx 250 r frame. soon as you hit the idle it bogs down when i bought it i didnt get into the throttle. when i rode it around. but after i got it home i realized it did not have same motor and i figure out what kind of motor they put on it was told by father in law it could be timing issue

 

Since it happens when you get into the throttle, it sounds like a dirty fuel bowl or partial clogged main jet. Clean out the carb well and it should take care of the problem.
