Default Honda Air Filters

Just got a couple new air filters from my dealer for our two Rancher 420's, so I can always have a clean one ready to go. My question is: Are the factory air cleaners already soaked with filter oil or should I add some more oil to them before installing them?

im not sure, but if it was you would feel the oil on them, I use a oil called Fab 1 by maxima and let me tell it goes on blue and you let it dry a bit and then even it out (its a spray) and works awsome, 2 weeks ago we were riding very dusy conditions and i was in the back after a 120 miles I pulled the airbox lid and the filter was very dirty nothing got through the filter its the stickiest filter oil ive ever used. I feel very confident in this filter oil.

My experience has been that they come adequately pre-oiled. After trying many different filter oils over the years, I have settled on UNI. It is tacky enough that it is way better than engine oil, yet isn't the gooey mess that the "super-tacky" oils are. UNI makes the stock fiters for Honda, so they should know what they are doing....

I also believe they come pre-oiled. Wouldn't be much to loose, though, to just clean and oil it to be sure.

I really like the pro-honda bio oil kit. Once you get the factory oil out the first time, you clean it with included special soap and water.

The oil is really tacky (comes in a bottle, so I just use the freezer bag method). It comes with a sticker for the airbox, since if you use the typical petrolium based solvents it turns into a ball of goo (the bio oil is resistant to fuels, and water).
