Default power steering

Ive got a kingquad 400 and my friend has a 2008 honda 500 with eps. I drove it today and is it just me or does the honda powersteering feel the exact same as a normal quad with no powersteering. I sure hope suzuki and yamaha isnt like that( ive heard its much better then hondas) because whats the point of paying that much for powersteering if there isnt much difference anyways. At a complete stop i still had to put quite a bit of pressure on the handlebars to get them to move and at a fast speed there was no difference between my machine. Also youd think for a machine with powersteering it would have fuel injection, irs ,and a diff lock. For the price he paid think of the kingquad 500 that he could have gotten with eps, fuel injection. diff lock, irs. Also our kingquad 400 was at half a tank when their machine had to go on reserve( 120km). 100cc shouldnt make that much of a difference in fuel mileage should it?

If you drive over rough ground or drive over a rock or block of wood you will notice the handle bars don't get grabbed out of your hands .. sitting still with the engine running you will notice the bars move easier that regular steering ... The power steering isn't on all the time , the EPS ECU uses the CKP sensor (crankshaft position sensor) and the VS sensor (vehicle speed sensor) and a torque sensor in the steering box .. The EPS isn't on all the time and driving normal down the trail you may not feel the difference but drive kitty corner over a log and you will feel the difference ..

I really notice when I make tight turns. I am able to turn the bars to full lock with hardly any resistance. Also, like Hondamechanic said it really works great over bumby areas. Acts like a steering stabailizer.

honda does have efi and irs on the rancher AT. it is the first year for the irs, and would imagine they expand it to other machines. hondas are typically more expensive, but have the bulletproof reputation of quality backing it up. they also have transmissions that no other manufacturer even comes close to imitating. its all in what you want.
