250ex in a recon

Default 250ex in a recon

would i need any new parts or adjustment to make a 250ex engine fit in a recon of similar years

Should drop right in. A 250EX is a Recon with better styling, more or less.

appreciate it i dont want to waste $200 for it not to fit

The EX is geared taller, but they may just do it with the final drive and not with the internal engine gears (?). The Recon is a utility and heavier, so it will benefit from lower gearing.

The recon has a recoil starter at the rear of the motor and the EX doesn't. But that shouldn't be a problem.

thanks for the reassurance but ive already swapped it and it runs great and it outruns any other recon
