I just bought this Honda TRX 400 FWT, 1996 and I am new to working on wheelers. I just added a battery but everytime I touch both terminals to the battery the starter tries to start the quad. I have heard maybe the solenoid is stuck in the on position? How would I check this? I don't currently have the two wires that would go from the battery to the solenoid hooked up even and it still tries to start and also, it makes a big spark when the positive wire is touch to the battery. So big that it's eaten through the metal that you screw the terminal into. Can anyone help?
