The electric shift will pretty consistantly shift up, but won't shift down. After I kill the engine I can turn the key on and downshift. Any ideas or suggestions.

 

First I'd make sure the clutch is adjusted properly .. Then I'd check shift control motor , we've had a lot in over the years that have had (what Honda calls) a lazy shift motor ... The main cause is dirty commutator bars on the armature .. If the clutch and shift motor are good then check the gearshift plate and/or the drum shifter ..
