Default TRX680 Oil Capacity?

Anyone know the oil capacity as well as the recommended oil for a 2007 680 Honda? Thanks

Recommended oil types are 0W-30, 5W-30, 10W-30, 10W-40, 20W-40, and 20W-50. Choose thicker oils in high temps and thinner in lower temps. As for the amount it depends on how well the system is drained, on average it's about 3 to 3.5 quarts for an oil change.

10W-40 is appropriate for most temp ranges, but it also needs to be rated API SG or higher, and JASO rated MA (for use with wet clutches that run in the oil).

You can get more oil to drain by raising the front of the quad.

Don't forget valve adjustment, and it also has traditional type coolant which should be changed every 2 years.

This model only has one drain plug at the rear of the crankcase correct?

That's correct. It's a funky long thing in at a slant.

Don't over torque it when you reinstall.

it's odd for sure, kinda long looking at a Honda microfiche,it has a o-ring on it to.What's the torque spec? I'm guessing around 18ft lbs. like most Hondas

Do you have any kind of perculating noise coming from your gas cap breather tube?

Torque for the drain plug is 25 Nm, or 18 ft/lbs.

Yeah, mine makes a perculating sound when hot. So does my buddy's 650 and so does my Foreman. I think a bit of fuel vapor condenses into liquid in the tube, and a tank of gas over a hot engine, getting sloshed around gives off quite a bit of vapor.

If it really bugs you, you can take the cap off and shake the liquid out of the tube, but it will build up again.

Valvoline 10w40 ATV oil is SG, JASO rated and has friction modifiers for wet clutches.

I would go to your dealer and buy a handful of DPGs (drain plug gaskets), the aluminum washer on the drain plug.

As you tighten the drain plug with a new DPG it will "crush" as you tighten it and you can feel it "stop" when it it tight enough.
