I own a 98 Honda 300 4x4. I can't get my quad to stay at an idle. It won't run unless I have it on choke, and after about five minutes, it starts to stall because the idle has been on too long. So, I have to give it gas the entire time I'm out on the trail. I need to fix this thing, and I was wondering how hard it is to do it myself. I don't want to take it in to the dealer if I don't have to. Thanks,

Firebug,
Yes, I did mess with the screw near the carb. It allows me to run the quad without stalling (with the choke on), but it still shuts off when I take the choke off.

hey buddie your choke might be sticking half on follow the cable down to the carb and make sure it is moving freely if not it might be fraied inside. you might have to get a new one.same thing happened to my 00 450es.

If it will only run on choke you need a carb clean especially the idle circuit
