Correct way to get toe out
I have an 05 Rubicon and I just had to replace a couple of tie rod ends. It seems they only last about 4000 miles. Now the toe-out is out of adjustment. I tried to leave them the same but didn't work.
My question is without a toe-out gauge, how do you get it adjusted properly? The manual says it should be "1-3/16 +- 9/16, which seems like a lot to me. Can I just measure the difference between the front and back?
I have tried searching this forum on this topic but no results came up. I am sure this is not the only topic on this. Is the search tool working right?

Frikken weird!
Usually a tire is scribed to provide a true line to go from. You can use the inside of the tire like mentioned.
With the machine on the ground, measure from the rear inside from wheel to wheel at spindle height. Then measure the front at the same place.
Set the "toe-in" at 1/8".
Bounce the machine up and down and measure again.
