Default Oh the joys of headaches and $$$ losses.

So today I took the ol' 400ex out for a spin. For the past few days my clutch has felt very odd. Harder and very unresponsive. I thought maybe it was time to adjust it. While riding I pull in the clutch to shift when BAM! My clutch cable snaps leaving me in 3rd gear. Now I am wondering, how am I going to get home without stalling it? I was forced to drive with EXTREME caution in order not to stall. As I get home now I am thinking, great, now I have to go online, tell the guys about my situation and start shopping for another part. So now here I am asking you guys here about my problem. Apparently from what I've read, clutch cables snapping is a very common problem so that gave me some relief. What I am just wondering is if it is difficult to switch cables? I was looking around the ATV and from what I see it doesn't seem to difficult to swap, but I could be wrong.

Clutch cables are disposable items, that need to be replaced now and then! The 400EX cables more often than the average.

Get a service manual and see what is involved....
