battery shows to be fully charged but will not start the bike. i can hook it to a charger on full power and it will start and run fine. any tips? Lights work and all just acts like it no juice to turn starter motor

 

When you hit the start button, does it make a clicking sound?

 

What voltage are you getting off the battery?

What's the voltage while cranking? (does it crank it over at all?)

You can also put the positive probe of the volt meter on the positive post of the battery (on the actual post, not the cable) and the negative probe on the positive terminal on the starter. Then when cranking you will get a reading of the voltage lost through the battery cables and starter relay.

 

you need to test the battery with a load tester to get a true result. I got one at Princess Auto, it basically has a large heating element and a 12v scale marked with weather the battery is OK, Fair or Poor at the end of the test.

A standard multimeter only reads floating voltage, and unless the battery is completly fubared, it will always read ~12v. Reading the battery while cranking will help as well.

i'd go ahead and pick up another battery just the same, if its been replaced look at the charging system as well.
