Well that sure seems like a good place to start then.

 

Picking an oil should actually be very simple! Any oil that is motorcycle specific and rated API SG/JASO MA is a good place to start. The SG insures that it has a descent additive package, and the MA insures that it is safe for your wet clutch. Beyond that, the synthetics are better than petroleum, and the ester synthetics are better than the other two types of synthetics.

Did you happen to notice that Honda oil is SJ not SG??? This is because it is intended to be used in street bikes that have cat converters, so it has to have reduced levels of anti-wear additives. Your quad doesn't have a cat converter, so no reason to run this oil when there are a hundred other out there that have a more substantial additive package.

As for the Havoline oil, is it motorcycle oil (not "car" oil) and is it SG/MA????

I would suggest Maxima Premium an inexpensive petroleum oil if you are working on the cheap. If you are willing to spend more money, then Maxima Extra ester synthetic is one of the best oils out there!
