Default tranny

Have a 2004 honda rancher 400.
The problem that I'm having is that when
taking off from a dead stop it seems like
its taking off in a higher gear, if you back off
the gas and excel again sometimes it works ok.
About 50% of the time it works.
If it does act up when taking off, you can switch
over to es, use the thumb control and it works
properly everytime. No lights come on for speedo.
Can anybody help me Thanks ron

We were orginally doing the complete product update on 2004 TRX400FG/FA but found the ECM not the main problem , the main problem is the centrifugal clutch slips causing the engine to rev a little higher the ECM see this and adjusts the swash plate into a higher gear..

Read the product update but don't do the stall test our shop stopped doing stall test long before the update expired in June/07 all the stall test will do is make the centrifugal clutch glaze the outer clutch drum more ..
