400ex vs. my 350 warrior
Hey guys...was looking around in the Honda forum because I want to get something better than my warrior. Its a great quad, but I want something with better suspension, ergonmics and a little more power. I only do trial riding. No racing at all. I was looking to step up to a 660 or 700 raptor. But I thought maybe I should consider a 400ex. What do you guys think? Any input is appreciated!

The EX is the best trail quad of all time! Its engine will lug down, and you can idle through the technical stuff. Dead solid reliable...it will run forever with just some simple maintenance. Good handling and good suspension.
The Z400 is also a good trail quad, but its engine likes to rev more, so I like it for faster trails and more open country. The Raptor 660 is to be avoided! It is narrow and tippy, and the early years had transmission troubles. The Raptor 700 is a torque monster, but all the power is just wasted on a tight trail.

just what recon said. i own a 400 and like it alot, i do have some mods tho. although i think the suzuki is a little better, it also has more things to break or go bad. id say get a 05 or newer 400ex that way you get reverse and the newer plastics. throw a filter, airbox lid and pipe on it and some nerfs and youll be set. then some tires, skids and a bumper. lol

Good to know guys -thanks! I am just wondering if I was jump on an '05 or up 400ex, would I be able to 'feel' more power than my 350? I am 6' and 215 lbs, so I need the extra low end grunt to get things moving. The warrior definatley has that - I have definatley outgrown the power of 350cc. So before I pull the trigger, I would love to know if the extra 50cc is noticeable?
