Rancher with code 5

Hello .I have a 2005 Rancher AT thats flashing a code 5. I"M reading that is the angle sensor. I also have read that it has to be preloaded at installation. Is this information correct? also will I have to clear the code from the ECM after installation ? If so, how is that done ? Thanks for any help!
