gas tank dents

Default gas tank dents

wondering if anyone has any good ways of getting dents out of gas tanks. tanks for four wheelers, three wheelers ,and motorcycles. thanks

I've used compressed air if the dent isn't on a body line ... But you have to be careful ..

Plastic or metal tanks??? You could try the fill it with water and put it in the freezer method, like we use to do with 2-stroke headers......

But....street bike with METAL tank.

The problem with dents is: When the dent is formed you stretch the metal. There is really no way to make that stretched metal go back in place without heating and cooling.
Sure, you can pop a dent out if it's shallow, BUT, the metal is stretched and it will pop back in very easy again.
