Hi, I was just wanting to know what are the best mud-riding tires for my honda recon?
I am just starting to mod mine out. I am hoping to get snorkel, jet kit, lift kit, tires, and exhaust. ect...
Thanks

Hmm,depends on how aggressive a tire you want and what type riding your going to be doing. This will be a very opinionated thread and I'm sure you will have alot of good choices.I have owned alot of different tires, pretty much all the popular tires on the market and my choices are Maxxis Zillas for mud & trail riding which is a very surprising tire and the Highlifter Outlaws for the mud,I own both and alternate for specific rides,I do like the Silverbacks, they do excellent in the thick slop but I've seen what roots and rocks embedded in the mud can do to the lugs but that's my opinion.Don't expect to enjoy a slow ride with the Outlaws or Backs, they are a rough ride below 25mph especially on hardpacked surfaces

Thanks for the reply.
I do alot of semi-rough trail riding, so I think even if i did get Mudzillas it maybe wouldn't matter.
I have pretty much narrowed it down to mudlites. Some other tires I like that are still on my mind or Mud Bugs, GBC Gators and or maybe (this one is down low on the list but) even Swamp Lites.
We do sometimes encounter water, though, and I want to be able to plow through it.

All the tires we listed do better than stock tires, some have better flotation and paddle ability and some will dig you down deeper in the mud as well as water but ground clearance, true 4wd where some guys say I have 4wd and when stuck in a bind they find out different where only one front pulls and good suspension travel is the key as most people bottom out on heavy rode rutted mud trails, there has also been opinions on having skinny or same size tires front and back,IMO I like the staggered wide rear and narrow front for easier steering, look at sand trucks, drag cars, mud trucks, sport race quads with the large paddles "wide/narrow",the more tire in my opinion in the rear the more pushing/pulling traction you will have especially handy on heavy rode sloppy trails, your fronts may sink into the rut but your wider tires in the rear can grab the sides where most tires don't and push you through.

I really like the Outlaws, but, they dont have my size. I also really like the vampires. When I actually found something, it was 22-12.50-9. This would rub my exhaust and other objects. I don't really want to buy spacers though, because if i'm getting tires, possible exhaust, lift kit, jet kit, other things....ect..then I may not have enough money for spacers.
This is all going to be for Christmas, I hope.
Also, I will probably only get back tires. My reasoning is 1, it's not 4x4 and 2, it won't cost as much.
Thanks,

im runnin the super grip mud bitches and absolutly love em.....not the smoothest ride on dry but who likes dust anyway....had zilla's last and they were good but nuttin like the super grips! im runnin 27's that measure about 28 and had slight rubbing on the inner finders but a little plastic trimmin and its all good! im a 130lb rider so heavier might have some issues in the rear, nuttin a lift wont fix

Since I am only 13, (I know, its dumb) my dad won't let me get the Super Grip Mud Witches.
I love the tread design and it looks like a really aggressive tire. Same with the Zilla's. Are the Zilla's good?I also like the Mudzilla's.
Thanks.
