06 Rancher gear slip?
#1
I had an unusual experience today. I have a 2006 rancher trx400fa. I was in Auto and driving down a steep concrete bank into some pretty deep water as I hit the water it was deeper than I thought so I started to get on it to get to the other bank and as I started to climb it my gears started slipping and I kept rolling back. So I just killed it and let it drown. I got pulled out and got it started and it ran perfectly fine in auto and esp. I am not sure what happened and it was fully in drive as far as the shifter. It only has 70 hours on it but the previous owner barely used it. I have changed the differential fluid. Anything else I should look into or was it just stuck in between gears?

Make sure your oil level is full, but I suspect you just did not have enough power in Auto. I have the 04 400AT and anytime I go through water or mud I use the ESP mode. The Auto does not have the power for anything but trail.

Ya that is what I was told to do by my brother next time. He said I should just keep it in 1st when pushing it like that. Do you think I did any damage or can it handle a mishap like that. As far as oil the level looked good and the color. Thanks
