Sell 200SX for a Recon?
#1
I was going to sell the 86 TRX200SX and get a newer Recon because I'm worried about getting parts if something breaks on the 200. But the Recons are a lot bigger. It's for my wife. And I just put $600 into the 200. But then again, because it looks and runs so good, it should be easy to sell. What to do? It's just for around the yard. She likes to garden and weed etc. She pulls a little trailer around. Maybe I should get a small John Deere lawn mower. We have a Z turn but that's not made for pulling. We'll ruin the tranny. Maybe a golf cart? Nobody makes a small atv like the 200SX anymore.

I have tried to get her interested in trail riding. She just isn't into it. I love it and she is on border line hates it. Any suggestions? I've grilled in the parking lots, snacked on the trail, went slow and did sightseeing as we ride. Nope. Nuttin. I really want to do a 3 day trip to Hatfield McCoy but she just won't go. She has no interest.

I'm lucky in that my wife loves to ride her atv....when she can. If there is a mud/water hole on the trail.....she will plow right through it! And I'm proud to say she is 52 years old! I'm older of course!
I will pick up a new Recon tomorrow for my son for Christmas and from what I have seen, they are very tough machines.
But depending on how big your yard is, a lawn tractor may be what she needs. If it's a large yard, like mine at 2 acres, a Recon would do nicely.

I don't know if I could describe just how hard my son rode my wife's Recon thru some really deep, nasty mud holes. He had that bike going thru ruts that 4x4 Foremans were getting stuck in by throwing the bike from side to side in the ruts and never letting off the gas. It took it like a champ, and made it deep into the woods and back. The Recon is small enough and light enough that when it did get stuck, all you have to do is lift each end of the bike out of the rut and go on your way. The Recon is one hell of a machine.

Having owned a 200SX, I can say that they were fun to ride, but the front suspension design was pretty poor and the brakes were crappy. If you're only going to putt around the lawn, keep the SUX. If she wants to actually ride it somewhere off the lawn, get the Recon. My two cents.
