I would just split the difference,and move up to 25" tires vs 26". My friends 660 grizzly had a acceleration and top speed loss when he when from 25" to 26" tires. I out accurates a Polaris 500 x2 efi and were sure its due to the X2 having larger 26" tires.

Going from 24" to 26" on a 420 will defiantly be felt in the mid to high end motor department.
