It's all good !! I am a new member. I just rebuilt the top end of my 1997 300ex to a 330 big bore kit. This was best $250.00 dollars i ever spent. I also had my head redone to work with this kit.

A few years back, DIRTWHEELS did an article on pumping up the 300ex. They used a 330 kit and along with other engine work and some suspension mods, they were able to SMOKE a stock 400ex. Always thought it would be a fun way to spend some extra cash, but got rid of my 300EX before I spent the money for the kit.

 

Welcome to the forums.. Nice upgrade on your 300ex. Cheaper than buying a 400ex anyday.

 

nice! i have thrown around the idea of doing such a thing...man, i dont know how it is in other areas, but around where i live, used 300ex's are a dime a dozen, which is ideal for some cheap fun!

 

Keep in mind that once you do these big bore kits, the engine's legendary reliability is gone! Fine if you don't ride far from home, or ride with others who can give you a tow home....
